Four 4th of July Essentials

It’s finally the holiday weekend and everyone is jetting off to the Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard or to their lake houses with the trendiest pieces in their wardrobe. July 4th weekend is the perfect time to début new trendy pieces or to be patriotic (I mean, I would prefer NOT to wear the typical red, white, and blue). The key to having a successful and comfortable holiday is to wear layers. No one wants to look cute, yet absolutely uncomfortable. If you’re heading out to the Hamptons, MV, or anywhere else surrounded by water, it’s important to dress in layers because the days can be warm and the nights can be pretty chilly. Some of my essentials I am packing for the Hamptons are a knit sweater, slouchy trousers, bold printed swimsuit, and my H&M Birkenstock-esque slides. These four items are essential for a comfortable, yet chic long weekend. Knit Sweater: Even though it’s not the fall or winter, a lightly knitted sweater can be an essential. As said before during the summer it can get kinda chilly at night. So it’s always better to be prepared then uncomfortably cold. A knit sweater is an easy way to stay warm without adding too much “bulk” to a look. During this time many designers and stores carry cropped knit sweaters or lightly knitted sweaters, which are perfect for the summer. These sweaters caught my eye because of the light structure and delicate color. Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 10.54.14 AM 3 1 Phillip Lim cotton shirt / J Crew j crew top / 3 1 Phillip Lim cropped sweater / Organic by John Patrick pullover sweater

Slouchy Trousers: Slouchy trousers are a must for several reasons. They are so easy just to slip on when the weather starts to cool down. They’re also light  to pack, so they don’t add bulk or excess weight to your beach bag. Opting for a bright and bold print can amp up your look. However, you can also opt for something more simple that can go with a variety of looks during the long weekend. Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 11.02.56 AM Alice + Olivia saggy pants / River Island slouchy trousers, $69 / Louche slouchy trousers, $28 / River Island straight pants, $55

Bold Printed Swimsuit: You could never go wrong with a printed swimsuit that has a unique pattern. I’m a sucker for monochrome items, yet it’s always nice to have a few standout pieces. A printed swimsuit can give a look so much character and will set you apart from the other ladies who are wearing black or white bikinis. Bold swimsuits also look amazing when you are tan.. Well I mean, what doesn’t look great against a tan? Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 10.40.18 AM Seafolly side tie bikini, $82 / Cynthia Rowley bikini, $225 / Eberjey swim suit, $275 / We Are Handsome swim suit, $205 / Brazilian style bikini, $190 Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 10.32.32 AM Ted Baker swimsuit swimwear, $125 / River Island swimsuit swimwear, $60 / Topshop one piece swimsuit, $76 / Mara Hoffman bikini swimsuit, $245 / Mara Hoffman one piece swimsuit, $310

“Birkenstock Styled” Slides: We all know that Birkenstocks are making a huge comeback this summer and most of them are already sold out. Thankfully, other boutiques that jumped on the bandwagon have supplied us with different varieties of the trendy yet ugly shoe (I’m a sucker for a pair of birks… My boyfriend think they’re Jesus sandals). There are tons of fun colors and styles that would go with personal style type. Obviously my fave are the traditional black Birkenstock, my black H&M crisscross strapped slides, and I like the slides from Steve Madden that have a little platform on the bottom. These sandals have a place in my heart because they are comfortable and they are easy to put on. They’re ideal for the lazy girls out included. They’re also perfect because they’re casual yet they add a cool vibe to any look. If your outfit is pretty dressy, a pair of these will give it a more casual vibe without you looking TOOOOO casual. Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 10.48.58 AM Sam Edelman polish shoes, $120 / Topshop shoes / ASOS strappy leather sandals, $76 / Birkenstock strap shoes, $210 / Topshop white leather sandals, $180 / Tibi shoes, $295

I hope these pieces were inspirational and will make it into your carryon this weekend! To show your 4th of July use the hashtag #fashionroyaltyblog

The Perfect Dose of Sequin for the New Year

Happy Holidays everyone,

Sorry for the lack of content. I’ve finished my semester and now I have a little more time to share some goodies with you! New Years Eve is approaching quickly and we all know we need to have the perfect outfit. It might seem cliché, however sequin garments are always perfect to bring in the New Year. Personally I think NYE is the only holiday you can truly look glam and not over the top in anything sequin. I also love this holiday because it’s the perfect time to step out of your comfort zone and be bold. I’ve put together four looks that can be worn in warm or cooler climates. You’d just have to adjust the look to suit the appropriate weather.

ImageThe first look is a play on a sexy red dress. New Years Eve is the perfect time to step out in a red sequin cutout dress if you want to be bold or step out of your comfort zone. This sequin knee length dress is perfect for NYE. The bold color, cut outs and knee length skirt keeps it sexy yet classy for your New Year’s festivities. To make sure the dress is the statement piece, I would pair this with a simple black pointed toe pump and neutral makeup and nail polish.

  1. Boohoo Aubrey Cut Out Bodycon Dress, $40,
  2. Retro Mid Heel Court Shoe, $40, Zara
  3. NYX Love in Paris Eye Shadow Palette, $9.99,

ImageThe second look is my absolute favorite. Now I wouldn’t recommend this look if you’re going to a party with a bunch of people who would spill drinks on you. This is for a more social get together with a bunch of friends and/or family. I love this look because it wasn’t as bold as the sequin cut out dress.  I was in love with the silver and gold sequin detailed crop top. I love that this top had a quilted look. The gold sequin detail gave it that glam aspect. I paired this top with high waist wide leg trousers. The white trousers gave this look a glamorous and Gatsby vibe. I paired this look with silver booties, a crystal clutch, and plum lips.

  1. Angeli Lattice Crop Top, $1,325,
  2. Alexander McQueen High Waist Trouser, $1,139,
  3. Christian Louboutin Reillissima Lace Illusion Platform Bootie, $1,295,
  4. Alice & Olivia Be Jeweled Embellished Clutch Bag, $465,
  5. Tom Ford Beauty Lip, $49, bergdorfgoodman

ImageThe third look is something a little simpler. This is a look I would definitely wear, not only on NYE. Keeping the outfit simple gives you more room to experiment with your makeup.  This look would go perfectly with a bold lip; therefore I stuck to black and gold throughout the look. The embellished black crop top was perfect to transform this all black look. Since the top had embellishment it gave this look extra glam. I paired this crop top with platform pumps with gold detail and a sequin gold clutch. To set this look apart I’ve also paired this look with orange lipstick.

  1. Black Devore Embellished High Neck Crop Top, $20,
  2. Mia High Waisted Skinny Jean, $72,
  3. Steve Madden Naia Platform Pump, $60,
  4. Gold All Over Sequin Clutch Bag, $28,
  5. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids, $23,

ImageThe fourth look was one of my favorites as well. One NYE I wore a romper and I loved it! When I saw this romper I fell in love. I loved that it was long sleeve, black, and had some sparkle to it. I also like the gold zipper on the back of the garment. I paired this romper with a pair of jeweled nude open toe satin pumps. Even though the romper is black, the gold and nude lightens up the look. I finished this look with a gold embellished see through clutch, a gold ring, and nude lipstick. This look is classy while having some sex appeal.

  1. Balmain Structured Wrap Dress, $2,229,
  2. Charlotte Olympia Pandora Pearl-in-Shell Clutch Bag, $1,395,
  3. Eva Fehren Gold Champagne Diamond X Ring, $5,785,
  4. Tom Ford Beauty Lip Color, $49,
  5. Badgley Mischka Dree II,

I hope these looks have inspired you to indulge in some sequin to begin the New Year. To show me your recreations or original looks follow me on Instagram (@_Jairx3) and use the hashtag #fashionroyaltyblog! I’d love to see what you will be wearing this NYE! Enjoy the holidays and be safe!

4 Holiday Approved Gem Tone Looks

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday!

The holiday season is approaching quickly. In comes the cold weather, snow, Christmas songs, and peppermint flavored treats there are many things to think about during this time. Our first holiday, Thanksgiving, is right around the corner and many people are scrambling for outfit inspiration for family gatherings or holiday parties. .

For Trendy Tuesday, I thought it would be a great to share four looks embracing the gem tone trend. As said before since the holiday parties are coming up fast, I thought four looks, two affordable and two expensive. I will also have two looks for a warmer climate and two looks for a colder setting. Gem tones are my favorite for this season. These tones are rich and has a since of warmth. These tones also look amazing when are used within a velvet or satin fabric. It ultimately gives a polished look and a look that is holiday appropriate.

The first look can be worn in a warm or colder climate and is super affordable! Onyx and rubies inspired the color scheme for this look. Red and black are also colors that are commonly used during the holiday season. Black is always forgiving and red contributes to the holiday spirit. The statement piece of this outfit is the ruby bodycon dress. To wear this dress in a cooler climate, I would just suggest pairing with a pair of tights (nude or sheer black). Since this piece is simple you can play up the rest of your look with different textures. To complete the look I paired this dress with a fitted black coat, leopard pumps, a beaded clutch, and black crystal chandelier earrings.

  1. V Neck Cap Sleeve Bodycon Dress, $30, from
  2. Bodycon Long Coat, $28, from
  3. Cult Ella Pump Leopard, $68, from
  4. Unoiven Earrings, $10, from
  5. Black Beaded Sparkly Box Clutch, $32,

ImageThe second look is also very flexible when it comes to climate. Rubies and amber tones inspired this look’s color scheme. As said before red/bordeaux is a popular color during the holiday months. I loved the pairing of bordeaux and amber because both of these color have warm tones. They also bring color into your complexion during the colder months. This look in particular has multiple affordable statement pieces. The piece that structured this look was the embellished crop top. I thought this piece was perfect because of the amber tones within the beading in the top. It was a tasteful and holiday appropriate piece. Since it was a crop top, I chose to pick garments to tone the rest of the look down. I paired the top with a burgundy blazer, black trousers, burgundy velvet loafers, a leopard faux fur clutch, and amber and gold jewelry.

  1. Burgandy Long Sleeve Jacket, $48, from
  2. Beige Embellished Racer Front Crop Top, $24, from
  3. Black Petite Tapered Trousers, $42, from
  4. Leopard Box Clutch, $40, from
  5. Filigree Stone Earrings, $14, from
  6. House of Harlow 1960 Gold Three Stack Ring, $50,
  7. Chevorn Ring, $3.80, from
  8. Geo Ring Set, $4.80, from
  9. Splendid Cannes Smoking Shoes, $78, from
  10. MAC Lipstick, $15, from
  11. NYX Love in Paris Eyeshadow Palette, $9.99, from

ImageThe third look is perfect for chilly weather and if you have a larger budget (don’t forget, these looks can be recreated with affordable pieces).  Just like the first look, onyx and rubies inspired this look. If you live on the east coast it gets pretty cold during the holiday months. Keeping this in mind, I wanted to start this look off with a heavy yet chic over coat. This coat is unique, however it does the job by keeping you nice and warm. I pared the coat with a pair of black pleated trousers and a cool textured burgundy t-shirt styled top. This shirt is also embellished with gems around the neckline, which gives it a polished look. To finish off the look I pared this look with simple diamond studs, a crystal cocktail ring, burgundy feather clutch, and leopard loafers.

  1. Black Waterfall Coat, $97, from
  2. Ponte Embellished Tee, $195, from
  3. Diane Von Furstenberg Alpine Trouser, $97, from
  4. RAS Moccasins, $215, from
  5. Marabou Feather Bag, $81, from
  6. Bronze Ring w/ Swarovski Crystal Teardrop, $84, from
  7. Carat 1.5 Eternal Stud Earrings, $230, from
  8. Aerin Lipstick: Winter Color Collection, $30, from
  9. Penelope Cruz Makeup by Charlotte Tubury, from

The final look is great for if you live in a warmer climate, yet still want to embrace the holiday look. For this look I though sapphire and ruby tones would go great together. Keeping the holiday inspiration I decided to stick to fabrics such as velvet and accents such as beading or embellishments and knitted mesh. The statement piece is a beautiful wide knitted navy knee length skirt. The length of the skirt is playful yet modest, which allows you to play with the other pieces of this look. I completed this look with a black beaded crop top, black suede pumps, a burgundy alligator clutch, and ruby gems.

  1. Petite Fluffy Crop Tee, $56, from
  2. Jacobbirge Skirt No 2, $564,
  3. Givenchy Judy Suede Pump, $730,
  4. Chanel 5 Colours Exclusive Palette, $80, from
  5. 10k White Fold Garnet Studs, $359, from
  6. Helene Handbags Alligator Zip Clutch, $3,150, from
  7. Rare 11.33ct Red Burma Spinel Diamond Ring, from
  8. Chanel Chance, $155, from

I really hope these looks have given you inspiration for your holiday outfit. I’d love to see the recreations you come up with so to show me your looks, go on Instagram (follow me: @_Jairx3) and hashtag #fashionroyaltyblog! Remember, I can only see photos from public pages! I hope everyone has a great week and happy holidays.

4 Fabulous Bright Coats for Fall.

Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for tuning in to this weeks Trendy Tuesday. When the winter months come around, we find ourselves kinda in a funk. We wear darker colors to match the weather and mood (I know I do). One trend that has really caught my eye is bright and colorful outerwear. I’m loving this trend because I think it’s out of the ordinary for the cooler months. Adding this bright statement piece to your wardrobe in the middle of fall or winter, can really lift up your mood and spirits. There are several ways to pull off this trend. There are many bright colors to choose from (red, purple, pink, green, etc.). One way to sport this trend is with an all black or black and white look. The bright coat will complete the look and will add a surprise element to it. If you’re a little more daring, you can pair a bright overcoat with complementary colors in the base of your outfit. For this trend, I created two outfits. One that’s holiday appropriate and another that’s a little more causal and as always there’s a outfit if you have a larger budget and there’s an inexpensive alternative.

This first look is extremely affordable for students, graduates, interns, or people who just have a smaller budget. The items you could splurge on in this look is of course the coat, if not there’s always a more affordable alternative. When picking the perfect color, think of what you could wear with it. Even though this is a trend for the fall and winter of 2013, you can still wear this next year as well. For this look I picked a trendy cobalt blue motto coat (for cooler weather) and a burnt orange oversized blazer coat (for warmer weather). I wanted to go in different directions with this look, while keep the base of the look causal and simple. The cobalt blue coat will top off the edgy vibe of the look. The burnt orange oversized blazer coat will add a polishing affect to the outfit.

  4. TOPSHOP Coated Biker Skinny Trousers from
  5. Vagabond Dioon Elastic Chelsea Boot from
  6. L’Oreal Paris Privee from

ImageThe second look is holiday appropriate. This look caters to the person with a big budget (but remember, you can always find more affordable alternatives). Whenever I go to holiday parties I always wear black. I know, super boring but it’s always forgiving (no matter how much food you eat). Also, black is classic and you could never go wrong with it. I think it’s the perfect base of a beautiful colorful coat that will bring some color to the holidays. For this look I picked out two of the same coats, but in different colors of course. I chose a vibrant red peplum coat and a rich purple peplum coat. I thought these two colors resemble the holidays and would be perfect for a holiday outing or party. As said before, this trend is for this season however can be embraced next year and years to come.

Banana Republic L’Wren Scott Holiday 2013

Happy Monday Dolls!

We all know how much I love collaborations. As said before, I think it’s amazing when luxury brands team up with huge retailers to give consumers that luxury piece at an affordable price. L’Wren Scott’s first collaboration is with Banana Republic. We have known of this collabo since the summer, but finally it’s almost here. This holiday collection will be available on December 5th, which is perfect for preparing gifts or snagging a chic outfit for those holiday parties.

Instead of imagining what’s in store, the lookbook has leaked (sucks, but yay for us!). The collection consists of garments in bold jewel tones, chic patterns, sequence, and faux fur. All of these things are definitely in for the fall and are perfect for the holiday season. The collection will consist of over 50 pieces that are class L’Wren Scott designs.  Here’s a photo to show what the collection will look like.

Personally as a college student, I haven’t been able to afford L’Wren Scott designs. However, many die-hard fans say that the tailoring of the clothes are perfect and have ultra-flattering cuts. In that case I cannot wait to see the pieces in person. I’m sure they’ll live up to the L’Wren Scott brand’s standards. The prices of the apparel range from $39.50 to $165 and the accessories ranges from $39.50 to $198. I cannot wait to see the rest of the collection in person. I’m sure every piece will be worth the money and those that are higher priced will be worth it.

Will you go out and snag yourself some Banana Republic L’Wren Scott? If you decide to, you better get it before it’s sold out!
