How to Style Knee-High Boots

Every fall and winter season there is that one trend that repeats itself. This week, “Trendy Tuesday” is all about the knee-high boot. The “knee-high” boot will NEVER go out of style. A pair of flat knee high boots and a pair of stiletto knee-high boots should be apart of everyone’s wardrobe during the cooler months. This boot is versatile and if you spend the money, it will last a long time. If stiletto knee-high boots aren’t up your ally that’s okay. A pair of flat knee high boots can be dressed up or dressed down, which is why they are a wardrobe essential.

ImageThe first look can be worn on the East coast or the West coast. Since this “Trendy Tuesday” post is designated to knee-high boots, it was only right to build each look around the boots. For this price, the Kato boot caught my eye. They were so cute and looked way more expensive than they actually are. The Kato boot is knee-high, of course, faux leather with quilted detail on the back, and gold hardware. Since the boot is faux leather they are easy to clean and are durable. I paired the Kato boot with a black wool sweater dress, a peach blazer, and a wool scarf. The pop of color in the blazer breaks up all of the black elements in this look. If in a cooler climate you can pair this look with some tights and a heavier blazer or overcoat.

ImageThe second look is a versatile look as well. Switching the outer garment can make this look appropriate for the East coast’s fall/winter.  Instead of a flat boot, a stiletto knee-high boot can dress up a look instantly. The Prima boot is a grey faux suede stiletto knee-high boot. The cage detail on the front caught my eye. It gave the boot an edgy and trendy vibe. Since the Prima boot was the statement piece of the look, I kept the rest of the look very simple and monochromatic. I paired the Prima boot with black skinny trouser, a white button down blouse, and a black blazer.

ImageThe third look might be my favorite. This is a causal look that can be worn on the East or West coast. Even though this look was very simple, it had a lot of character. The boot chosen for this look was the Burberry Winton boot. You could never go wrong with a pair of flat, brown knee-high boots. The Winton boot is 100% Buffalo leather with gold hardware. This boot can be easily dressed up or down because of how simple they are. I paired the Winton boot with a pair of dark washed skinny jeans, a beige wool cape jacket, and a brown suede messenger bag. The different variations of brown give the outfit a chic look without looking too “matchy”.

  4. Proenza Schouler Brown Suede PS1 Large Flap Messenger Bag, $1,400, from coutureusa.com

ImageThe final look is not causal but not dressed up. I love this look because it’s also versatile. You can go to work in this look and also go out to dinner later in it as well. Who doesn’t love a knee-high stiletto Christian Louboutin boot? Exactly. The Daf boot will always be hot and a staple in every wardrobe.  The black suede Daf boot was immediately on my list for this trend. To keep this look classy yet trendy I paired the Daf boot with a pair of black skinny jeans, a black tote, and a cream, black, and tan knit sweater. The sweater contributed to the trendy aspect with its geometric design. This look was definitely one of my favorites. It was simple, yet chic.

Trendy Tuesday: Grey Matter.

Hello everyone! Thank you for tuning in for Trendy Tuesday!

ImageOne trend that’s hot this fall and winter are bright and vibrant colors. Another hot trend embraces the gloomy and cool weather during the winter. Using combinations of the color grey in your wardrobe can set you apart from the bunch.  Instead of pairing black with white, you can use grey as one of your staple colors. Grey is the perfect color for this winter because of its versatility. You can go for a light grey, which will look more polished and dressy. Or you could opt for a darker grey, which could be a little more causal and cozy.

ImageThe first look utilizes a neutral grey color. This look is perfect for the east coast. I am in love with this outfit because it looks so expensive, yet it is extremely affordable! I also love this outfit because it’s versatile. It is extremely comfy, yet extremely put together. The statement piece of this look is the turtleneck sweater dress. This is a piece that should be apart of everyone’s fall/winter wardrobe. To complete this look I paired it with a black sweater coat, black Chelsea boots, and a black clutch. Since it gets pretty cold on the east coast you could layer up and pair this look with a pair of opaque tights. I thought it was necessary to pair the turtleneck sweater dress with all black accessories. The completed outfit was sophisticated and cozy, which is perfect for the holiday season.

ImageThe second look is extremely causal and I love it. As a student it is always important to be super comfortable while looking put together. The sweat pant’s caught my eye and was the foundation of this look. Usually sweatpants tend to look boring. I thought these were so cool because of the black details around the waist, knees, and ankles. I thought the black and silver zippers gave the classic sweat pant an edgy look. This look can either go for the west or east coast. If in a colder climate I would suggest layering up and pairing with a warm overcoat. I paired the sweat pant with a black blouse, white platform Converse, a grey backpack and a grey scarf. This look embraced the grey tend, but wasn’t overwhelming because of the different grey tones.

ImageThe forth look was something different and out of my comfort zone for the winter. Usually in the winter I don’t embrace lighter colors. I thought to step out of my comfort zone I would pair grey with some lighter colors. I fell completely in love with these light grey trousers. They were such a beautiful color and I had to base an outfit around them. I decided to pair the trousers with a white light weight long sleeve blouse, light pink Chelsea boots, a light pink bomber jacket, and a grey croc tote. As said before this look was completely out of my comfort zone. However, I loved using different tones of grey and pink to make this look complete.

ImageThe final look is very causal. This was actually one of my favorites out of the four looks. As said previously, if you’re in a cooler climate you can simply sport an overcoat with this look. The statement piece of this look was the ankle boots. These ankle boots are absolutely perfect and unique. These boots had two tones of grey, which complimented each other perfectly. I paired the boots with a grey and black sweatshirt, black trousers, sunglasses, and a dark grey tote.
